PSU Education Grant Application for Dependent of Member
For grants at the Secondary school level, parent/guardian must be a paying union member for at least 2 years. (Dependent can be persons who are not blood related but do reside in the household as a dependent i.e. the member should be the official guardian of the dependent.)
There are 10 secondary school scholarships across the four secondary levels:
- 1st Form: $800.00 (2)
- 2nd Form: $1,000.00 (2)
- 3rd Form: $1,200.00 (3)
- 4th Form: $1,400.00 (3)
Grants are a one-time payment made to the school on behalf of a successful applicant.
- Each member may submit only one application on his/her child’s behalf.
- Siblings of successful PSU scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply until a five-year period has elapsed.
- Candidates must have a primary/secondary school grade point average of 75 percent or above.
- Grant recipient must give back forty (40) hours to PSU in form of community service at the branch level or at the PSU Headquarters in Belmopan.
Documentation:
- First form applicants must submit a copy of report cards for Standard V and VI along with acceptance letter from secondary school.
- Second to fourth form applicants must submit a copy of their most recent report card.
- Secondary School Applicants must submit a short essay on the importance of education and why you are deserving of this grant.
- ALL applicants must submit a completed application form.
The deadline for submission of applications is Sunday, 30 June 2024.
